Event overview
The 2026 Lovers race takes place on February 14, 2026 at Burke Lake Park in Fairfax Station, VA. The event offers these distances:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half marathon
Points from the races count toward the organizer's Year-Long 5k, 10k, Endurance, Back of the Pack, and Winter Series. A virtual race option is available. The event benefits the Organization for Autism Research. Registered runners receive a finisher’s medal, a technical event shirt, and chip timing.
Course and logistics
All courses are on trails at Burke Lake Park. The route is described as fairly flat and well maintained with roots to navigate. The 5k and 10k are single out-and-back courses; the half marathon is an out-and-back completed twice. Water stations:
- Half marathon: 9 stations at approximate mile markers 1.1, 3.1, 3.5, 5.1, 6.55, 7.65, 9.65, 10, and 12
- 10k: 3 stations at about miles 1.1, 3.1, and 5.1
- 5k: 2 stations at about miles 1.1 and 2
Gatorade will be available at some stations. The half marathon has a completion time limit of 3:15. Packet pickup is available at the event; race day registration is offered but shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed for late registrants. Parking is at Shelter A in Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Rd). Awards are given to the top three men and women overall and to first and second in standard age groups. Live results and photos will be posted after the race.
