Event Overview
The 5K Love Run is a running event in Norris, Tennessee, benefiting the Child Advocacy Center of Anderson County. The event offers multiple participation options, including a USATF-certified 5K course. The race start and finish is in front of Norris Middle School.
Events and Registration
The event includes several categories:
- 5K Open: A timed 5K race.
- 1 Mile Fun: A timed one-mile run or walk.
- Sleeping But Supporting: A non-participation registration option.
- Run Anywhere 5K Virtual Run: A virtual 5K option where participants can run their own chosen course between February 14 and March 1, 2026.
Race day registration is available, ending 30 minutes before each event start, and must be completed via a personal device (smartphone, laptop, or tablet). A virtual results system is available for the virtual run.
Course and Timing
The main 5K course is a USATF-certified route (certification number TN24038MS). It features three aid and water stations. The event is professionally timed. All participants can use the free RaceJoy mobile app for GPS tracking, progress alerts, and to allow friends and family to send cheers. Virtual participants can use the app to record and submit their run times.
Participant Information
All pre-registered participants are guaranteed an event T-shirt. Hot chocolate is available after the race. Strollers are allowed but must start near the back of the pack. Pets are not permitted. Volunteers who sign up before a specified date receive a shirt.
Awards
Awards are given in the 5K and 1 Mile events. The top two overall male and female finishers in the 5K and the top overall male and female finishers in the 1 Mile receive overall awards and are not eligible for age group awards. Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in numerous age categories. Team awards are also presented.
Logistics
Early packet pick-up is available on February 26, 2026, at Fleet Feet in Knoxville. Someone else may pick up a packet if they can verify the participant's personal information. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
