About the race
The Love of the Horse Ocala 5K returns for its sixth annual edition at the Florida Horse Park. The course is situated at the South Highway 475 entrance and consists of a mix of road and grass surfaces. This event is held in benefit of the Foundation for the Horse, an organization that focuses on equine welfare through research and education.
Participants can choose from the following options:
- 5K
- Virtual 5K
The virtual registration allows participants to complete their own course from any location and upload their times to the event platform. For those attending the physical event, the first 200 finishers will receive commemorative medals. A physical pre-race warm-up session is also scheduled at the park shortly before the start.
Registration includes an event shirt for those who enter by the mid-March deadline. Awards are determined by gun time and are presented to the overall top male and female finishers, masters winners, and the top three finishers in various age categories ranging from under 9 to over 70. Participants attending the morning race also have the opportunity to stay for a polo classic scheduled at the same venue later in the day.
