Louisville Hungry Turkey 5K
The Louisville Hungry Turkey 5K is a chip timed Thanksgiving morning 5K held in Louisville, Kentucky at Waterfront Park Great Lawn South, 231 Witherspoon St. The event features a separate Kids Dash with a finisher award and a course time limit of 1 hour 20 minutes for the 5K.
Finish line amenities include Bamboo donuts. Participants choose event gear: a classic t shirt or an upgrade to a thin tec soft polyester pullover. Packet pick up details are posted in advance; same day pick up at the event site is offered with an expected wait. Purchased add on finisher medals are available for on site pickup after the race; unclaimed medals may incur a small mailing fee.
The event is chip timed and results, photos and national leaderboard placements are posted after the race. Awards are given to the top three male and top three female finishers overall and within standard age groups, with categories from 10 and under through 70 plus. No dogs are allowed; strollers are permitted for walkers and joggers when a guardian signs the waiver on behalf of the child in the stroller. Headphones and personal audio devices are permitted but participants are responsible for maintaining awareness of course conditions.
