Event overview
The 5th Annual Louisville H.E.R.O. Run/Walk/Ruck takes place on Saturday, May 30, 2026, at the University of Louisville Track Stadium, 2125 South Floyd Street, Louisville, KY 40208. The event honors those who died in battle and those lost at home to the psychological wounds of war. Proceeds will benefit Volunteers of America Mid-States and the University of Louisville Salute to Service Scholarship Fund. The event is described as family friendly and includes on-campus routing that leaves the track, goes around the University of Louisville campus, and finishes on the track.

- 5K Run/Walk/Ruck
- 10K Run/Ruck (10K runners complete the 5K course twice)
- 100-meter Kids fun run (ages 8 and under, free)
- Virtual Run/Walk/Ruck option
Entry fees use early-bird and regular pricing: early-bird through December 31, 2025 is $20 for military and veterans and $25 for civilians; after January 1, 2026 fees are $25 for military and veterans and $30 for civilians. A virtual entry option is available.
Logistics and awards
Packet pickup is Friday, May 29, 2026, at Mission BBQ, 4607 Shelbyville Road, Louisville, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm, and race day packet pickup and registration at Cardinal Track Stadium from 7:00 am to 7:45 am. All 5K and 10K finishers will receive a custom medal. Additional awards will be given to top civilian and veteran male and female finishers for both distances. Race ambassadors who recruit five registrants can receive a registration refund per the event’s ambassador program.
