Louisville H.E.R.O. Run/Walk/Ruck
The 5th Annual Louisville Honor Earned, Remembrance Owed H.E.R.O. Run/Walk/Ruck is scheduled for May 30, 2026 at the University of Louisville Cardinal Track Stadium, 2125 South Floyd Street, Louisville KY 40208. The event honors those who died in battle and those lost at home to the psychological wounds of war. Proceeds will benefit Volunteers of America Mid-States and the University of Louisville Salute to Service Scholarship Fund.
The event program includes the following formats:
- H.E.R.O. 5K Run/Walk/Ruck
- H.E.R.O. 10K Run/Ruck
- H.E.R.O. Kids 8 and under free 100 meter fun run
- H.E.R.O. Virtual Run/Walk/Ruck
The route leaves the track and field stadium, travels around the University of Louisville campus, and finishes on the track. All 5K and 10K finishers receive a custom finisher medal. Additional awards are planned for top civilian and Veteran male and female finishers in both distances.
Registration fees vary by date. Early bird pricing until December 31, 2025 is listed as $20 for military and veterans and $25 for civilians. After January 1, 2026 the listed fees are $25 for military and veterans and $30 for civilians. The kids 100 meter fun run is free.
Packet pickup is available Friday, May 29, 2026 at Mission BBQ, 4607 Shelbyville Road, and on race morning at Cardinal Track Stadium. A course map is provided showing the 5K route; 10K runners complete that route twice. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
