The 2026 Louisiana Watermelon Festival 5k takes place on Saturday, July 25, 2026 in Farmerville, Louisiana (71241). The listed meeting location is 403 N. Main St., Farmerville. Entry fee is $30 for the 5k, and race day registration is $40. Online registrants are guaranteed this year's race t-shirt if registered by July 14, 2026. Online registration closes on July 25, 2026. Proceeds from the event will go to Willpower Foundation, Inc., a volunteer nonprofit in Northeast Louisiana that raises money for St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. Race day registration is held in the parking lot in front of Farmerville First Baptist Church, 403 N. Main St.
Course, awards and amenities
The course features a fast first mile downhill followed by a steeper section referred to as "Watermelon Mountain" around mile 2. Roller blades and skates are prohibited on the racecourse. Awards are offered separately for male and female divisions and include 1st Overall, 1st Overall Masters, and 1st, 2nd, and 3rd places by age groups: 0-9, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over.
