Event Overview
The Louise Archer Sun Run is a community event taking place on Sunday, April 12, 2026. It consists of two events: a timed 5K Run/Walk and an untimed 1K Sun Run for kids.
Location & Activities
The event is based at James Madison High School at 2500 James Madison Dr in Vienna, Virginia. The Sun Run starts first, followed by the 5K.
Registration & Fees
Registration is online only and remains open through race day morning. Early registration pricing applies until March 13, 2026.
- 5K Run/Walk (Adult, 13 & over): $40 early, $45 after March 13.
- 5K Run/Walk (Kids, 12 & under): $35 early, $40 after March 13.
- Sun Run 1K Fun Run (untimed): $20 early, $25 after March 13.
A commemorative race shirt is included for participants who register by March 27.
Awards & Logistics
Awards are given to the overall male and female finishers aged 13 and over, and to the top male and female finishers aged 12 and under in the 5K. Packet pickup and late registration are available on Saturday, April 11 at the PR Store in Vienna, and on race day at the high school starting at 7:15 AM. All participants must be registered and wear a bib. Parents registered for the 5K can join their children in the Sun Run at no extra cost.
