39th Annual Loudoun Street Mile
The Loudoun Street Mile is a long-standing running event held in Winchester, Virginia. The 2026 edition serves as the RRCA Regional Championship Mile Event and also hosts the Collegiate Running Association (CRA) National Championship Mile.
Participants can choose from several event categories:
- Mile Race (Open to ages 6 to 105)
- Fitness Walk (Non-competitive)
- Tot Trot (Open to ages 5 and under)
The course for the mile races and the fitness walk begins at 1512 S. Loudoun Street near Blue Ridge Electric. The finish line is located on the Loudoun Street Pedestrian Mall in front of the Courthouse Museum.
The race utilizes a wave format to manage the flow of runners. Participants are grouped into heats of approximately 75 to 100 people. The initial heats feature seeded elite and collegiate runners, with subsequent waves organized based on submitted entry times. Each participant’s bib number indicates their assigned wave.
Registration for the event must be completed in advance; there is no registration available on the day of the race. While the registration fee covers entry, official event T-shirts are available as an optional add-on for those who register before the April deadline. Advance bib pickup is available at the Runners' Retreat store in the days leading up to the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
