Lou Cox at DeWeese Park 5K

The Lou Cox at DeWeese Park 5K is a running event held in Dayton, Ohio, organized by the Ohio River Road Runners Club (ORRRC). The event features a single distance:

  • 5 km (3.1 miles)

The course is a flat loop that utilizes paved recreation paths. Participants travel through three different scenic areas: DeWeese Park, Triangle Park, and Island MetroPark. The route follows the banks of the Stillwater and Great Miami Rivers.

Registration is open to the public and can be completed online beforehand or in person on the day of the race. Participants are required to check in to receive and attach a timing chip to their footwear. While the event does not provide shirts or finisher medals, it offers a chip-timed finish and refreshments for all participants.

Awards are presented to the top three overall male and female finishers, as well as the first-place male and female in various age categories ranging from 18 and under to 70 and over. Specific awards are also available for the top three male and female finishers in the Wolverine category.

Parking is available in a large gravel lot at the entrance of Triangle Park, located at the intersection of Ridge Avenue and DeWeese Parkway.
