Event overview
The Lost Trail 5K and Half Marathon take place at Granite Beach, Folsom Lake State Recreation Area on February 21, 2026. The races run on single-track trails along the shoreline and are described as very well marked, with scenic lake views and wildflowers. Finisher medals are awarded and custom soft-cotton race shirts are available for pre-order for $20.

- 5K: 3.1 miles
The event provides five aid stations located at miles 2.2, 4.2, 6.2, 10 and 11.5. Listening devices such as MP3 players and headphones are allowed; runners are reminded to exercise caution when crossing roads and to pay attention on trails. Packets are available at the race site on race day from 6:30 am to 8:00 am.
Entry, awards and policies
Entry fees vary by registration date, with tiered pricing for early, late and race-day entries. Awards include Overall Champion awards for the top male and female finishers and awards three deep in each ten-year age group for both the half marathon and the 5K. For 5K events, athletes under 19 are split into two groups: 14 and under, and 15-19.
TBF Racing has a no-refund policy; refunds requested before race week are issued as race credit minus a $25 processing fee. Transfers between TBF events are allowed within one year for a $25 fee; transfers are not allowed during race week. All events are held rain or shine.
