Overview
The Lost Trail event includes a 5K and a Half Marathon race on a Saturday in February at Granite Beach, within the Folsom Lake State Recreation Area.
Course Details
Both courses are described as very well-marked. The route features scenic lake views and is noted for wildflowers. Aid stations are described as "well-stocked" and are located at five points along the half marathon route, specifically at mile markers 2.2, 4.2, 6.2, 10, and 11.5. The use of personal listening devices like MP3 players and headphones is permitted for both distances.
Awards & Fees
Awards are given to the first place overall male and female finishers in the half marathon. Awards are also given to the top three finishers in each ten-year age group for both the half marathon and the 5K. For the 5K, participants under 19 are split into two groups: 14 and under, and 15-19.
Entry fees increase after a November 1 deadline and again on race day. The organizer has a no-refund policy, but offers race credits for requests made before race week, minus a processing fee. Transfers between other events by the same organizer are allowed outside of race week for a fee.
