About the race
Lory Summer Trail Series is a four-race trail series held in August 2027 at Lory State Park, Eltuck Picnic Area, Fort Collins, Colorado. The series offers shorter trail courses in a midweek format and runs on four Tuesdays in August.

Races and elevation details: August 4 is the Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 5k (250' elevation gain); August 11 is Into the Hills Eltuck 10k (1,700' elevation gain); August 18 is Into the Hills Eltuck 5k (700' elevation gain); August 25 is the Flat and Fast Eltuck Valley 12k (500' elevation gain).
Registration for 2027 opens December 15, 2026. Pricing through June 30 is $25 per race or $85 for the series; from July 1 the price is $30 per race or $100 for the series. Ages 17 and under pay $10 per race. A 75% race transfer credit is available and valid for 12 months; transfers or credits may be requested up to 72 hours before a race. Entries are non-refundable and non-transferable except for waitlist transfers; no refunds or credits if the race is cancelled for extreme events.
Race day notes: pizza and beverages are provided after each race, participants may choose a free vintage shirt while supplies last, and awards are given to top points scorers at the end of the series. These are low frills races with no on-course aid. Two permanent toilets are at the start and finish and additional park restrooms are passed on the courses. Parking is at the Eltuck Picnic Area until filled, then at nearby Spur Road with a short walk to the start.
Rules include no purposeful littering, staying on trail, yielding to pedestrians and horses, restrictions on mechanical aids unless preapproved, and no dogs on course.
