Lake Wehrspann Run
The Lake Wehrspann Run takes place in Chalco, Nebraska on August 2, 2026, and is part of the Lord of the Lakes series. The event uses the paved trail around Lake Wehrspann and nearby paths at South 144th Street and Giles Road.
Distances offered:
- 10K: A paved trail around the lake with many turns and occasional hills.
- 2 Mile: A moderately hilly out-and-back course across the dam.
- Kids' 1K: A relatively flat route along the trail for kids 12 and under.
All finishers in the 10K receive a Lord of the Lakes medal and the associated gemstone. Participants in the 10K and 2 Mile receive a T-shirt with registration; T-shirts are not guaranteed after July 21, 2026. There is no shirt for the Kids' 1K. All participants receive refreshments after the race.
Awards for the 10K include trophies for the top three overall male and female finishers and the top three masters male and female, plus medals for top male and female in age groups 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and up. The 2 Mile awards trophies to the top three overall male and female. All kids 12 and under in the Kids' 1K receive medals.
