Course, aid, and logistics
All courses begin with a significant climb called "the hill," which contains most of the event elevation gain. Trails afterward are undulating through forest, include rocky sections, slippery bridges, creek crossings, and a short technical descent toward the finish. Elevation gain by distance: 5K 650 ft, 10M 2100 ft, 20M 4200 ft, 50K 6300 ft. The 10M aid station is at about 4.5 miles. Aid stations for longer distances are located at 4.5, 10, 14.5, 20, and 24.5 miles as applicable. Due to limited parking, 5K and 10M runners park off-site at Monroe High School and use a continuous shuttle; only 20M and 50K runners may park at the start/finish area. Trails remain open to other users including equestrians, pedestrians, and cyclists. Kid’s races of about 0.9 mile are offered as part of the event.
