About the race
The Lorain County Relay for Life 5K/1Mile is a community run and walk held at Lorain County Community College in Elyria, Ohio (1005 Abbe Rd N, Elyria, OH 44035) on Saturday, September 26, 2026. The event features a fast, flat course and a separate kid-friendly fun run. The day includes a classic car show, a kids play zone with bounce houses and activities, food trucks, a silent auction, raffles, a kids fest with inflatables and touch a truck, opening ceremonies, a survivor lunch, and a luminaria event. All proceeds benefit the American Cancer Society with a fundraising goal of $85,000. Teams are available this year through a prepaid membership package priced at $100 for four entries.
Registration is online only; on-site bib and T-shirt pick up take place at the start and finish parking lot. No cash or credit card transactions are accepted on race day. Participant benefits and awards are provided: 5K and 1 Mile participants receive a T-shirt and medal, Kids' Run participants receive a medal, top three male and female 5K finishers receive Goodr sunglasses, and top three male and female finishers in each 5K age group receive a Specialized race bottle.
