Loop Out the Year - Lakewood, WA, Dec 26, 2026
Loop Out the Year is an endurance running event held at Fort Steilacoom Park with start and finish at the barn near the dog park parking lot. The course is a looped trail that uses the park’s trail system.
The loop measures 5 miles with approximately 520 feet of elevation gain. Participants select a timed event and run as many complete loops as they can within their chosen time period.

After each loop runners return to the start/finish/aid station to check in with a volunteer so laps are recorded. The course passes a nearby parking lot and participants may use their vehicles as personal aid stations, but all runners must check in at the official aid station after each loop for distance to be counted.
The aid station provides light common food, water, several electrolyte blends, warm beverages during the event, and soup at the finish. There are limited gluten free and vegan options; participants with special food needs should plan to provide their own. Handmade finisher awards are given to all finishers.
