Loop Out the Year Endurance Run
Loop Out the Year is an endurance running event held at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, Washington. The event serves as a final opportunity for participants to reach their annual mileage goals by following a looped course through the park's trail system. Participants can select from three different time-based distances:
- 3 Hours
- 6 Hours
- 8 Hours
The course consists of a 5 mile loop that includes 520 feet of elevation gain. All participants start and finish at the barn located near the dog park parking lot. Runners complete as many full loops as possible within their designated time frame. After every lap, participants must check in with a volunteer at the official aid station to ensure their distance is recorded.
The event provides an aid station featuring standard race food, water, and various electrolyte blends. Warm beverages are served during the run, and soup is provided at the conclusion of the event. While some limited gluten-free and vegan options are available, participants with specific dietary requirements are encouraged to bring their own supplies. The course route passes through a nearby parking lot, allowing runners to utilize their personal vehicles as secondary aid stations if desired. All finishers receive handmade awards to commemorate their achievement. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
