Loop Out the Year Endurance Run
Loop Out the Year is an endurance running event held at Fort Steilacoom Park in Lakewood, Washington. Organized by Trail Therapy Running, the event provides a final opportunity for runners to meet their mileage goals before the end of the calendar year. Participants navigate a scenic trail system on a looped course, with the start and finish area located at the barn near the dog park parking lot.
The race follows a 5 mile loop that includes 520 feet of elevation gain. Runners complete as many laps as possible within their selected timeframe. After each loop, participants must check in at the official aid station to have their distance recorded. The course layout passes through a nearby parking lot, allowing runners to utilize their personal vehicles as individual aid stations if desired.
Participants can choose from the following timed categories:
- 3 Hours
- 6 Hours
- 8 Hours
The official aid station offers water, various electrolyte blends, and light food fare. Warm beverages are provided during the run, and soup is available at the finish. While some gluten-free and vegan options are provided, these are limited. All finishers receive handmade finisher awards at the conclusion of their event. Registration for the race closes two days prior to the event date. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
