Event Overview
The Longhorn Stampede is a 5 km run/walk event. It is the 10th annual edition of this community event.
Course
The course is flat and USATF-certified. It starts at Leigh High School on Leigh Avenue in San Jose, California. The route goes east on Los Gatos Almaden Road and winds through the surrounding Cambrian neighborhood. The final half-mile is back on the school campus, finishing in the quad.
Included with Registration
Participants receive a race bib with professional timing, a short-sleeve tech t-shirt, and a custom finisher medal. There is on-course support from the Leigh High School cheerleaders and band. A post-race celebration includes a costume contest, prizes for top age group finishers, and free participant photos.
Registration and Fees
Registration is open for several categories:
- 5K Adult: Early bird, standard, and race day pricing.
- 5K Youth (5-19 years): Standard and race day pricing.
- 5K Kid (4 and under): Free registration.
- 5K Family: A discounted rate for up to five family members (maximum two adults).
Registering by April 28 guarantees a t-shirt. The event is hosted by Leigh High School's Home & School Club, Performing Arts Parent Association, Sports Boosters, and Spirit Boosters.
