Long Island 6 Hour 60th Birthday Celebration Run and Relay
This is a six hour timed run and relay taking place on September 27, 2026 at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, NY. The event is presented as a 60th birthday celebration and is held in memory of community members.
Participants may run or walk as many or as few loops as they choose. The course uses a 1.50 mile loop around Belmont Lake, with an aid station located every 1.50 miles. A short loop will be used during the final 30 minutes of the event. Entries are offered for individual runners and for team relays, including male, female, and coed teams of four and teams of six.
Event amenities include commemorative apparel for registrants, a special hooded sweatshirt option for the class of 1966, personalized bibs for those who register three weeks in advance, live and same-day results by text and email, and free finish line and course photos. Medals are awarded to any runner who covers at least 26.2 miles during the six hours.
Awards are given to the top overall finishers and to top teams by category, with additional awards for top participants in the class of 1966. A portion of proceeds is donated to local nonprofits supporting a firefighters museum and a youth running program. Registration fees are non-refundable.
