Long Island 6 Hour 60th Birthday Celebration Run and Relay
This six hour timed run and relay takes place at Belmont Lake State Park in West Babylon, NY, on a flat scenic loop that runs mostly on a friendly dirt path near and around the lake. The loop measures 2.50 miles, with an aid station available each loop. Runners may complete as many loops as they choose during the event.
Competition categories include individual runners and teams in male, female and coed divisions for both four-person and six-person teams. Awards are presented to the top three male and female overall finishers by distance, to the top male, female and coed four- and six-person teams, and to the top male and female members of the Class of 1966. Medals are awarded to every runner who covers at least 26.2 miles.
Event amenities include post-relay food and drink, a commemorative crew neck sweatshirt for every registrant and a commemorative hooded sweatshirt for members of the Class of 1966, live results via text and email, free finish line and course photos, and personalized bibs for those who register early. Bib pickup takes place at the Birch Pavilion in the main parking lot near the start and finish area. A portion of proceeds supports the Nassau County Firefighters Museum and a local youth running program. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
