Lobo Cancer Challenge
The Lobo Cancer Challenge is an annual community fundraiser held in September at the UNM Lobo Football Stadium in Albuquerque, NM 87106. The event raises funds for the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center and supports patient care, cancer research, community outreach, and education and training programs.
Sponsor support enables 100% of the fundraising dollars raised by participants to go to the participant’s choice of program within the cancer center. The UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center is the only National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center in the New Mexico region.
Event day features multiple course and activity options, including:
- 5K Run / Walk
- 25 Mile Bike Ride
- 50 Mile Bike Ride
- Stadium Stair Challenge
- Cub Pack Fun Run for children ages 1-10
- Virtual Challenger option
A Participant Village and a Wellness Village host sponsor booths, games, and activities on the field. The event brings together survivors, caregivers, volunteers, sponsors, and community members to support the cancer center’s programs and services. Fundraising proceeds may be directed to cancer patient treatment and support, advanced research, community outreach, or education and training within the UNM Comprehensive Cancer Center.
