LO Central Coast Train Run + Walk
Organized by Latino Outdoors Central Coast, this is an introductory and social trail outing at Creekside Terrace Trailhead, Fort Ord National Monument in Salinas, California. The event invites participants to run or walk together on nearby trails and to connect with others who enjoy outdoor activities.
The running option follows a 6.5 miles loop that combines gravel, road and single track terrain. Participants are advised to carry a headlamp or small flashlight as daylight shortens; organizers can lend one on request. The walking option uses wider trails and is a 2 to 3 miles loop suitable for children and for strollers that can roll on gravel roads.
Before the activity there will be a place to refill water, electrolytes and take trail snacks. After the run and walk, burritos and chocolate milk will be available. Dogs are allowed on leash, and there is a small section where dogs can run off leash.
Practical details include the meeting and parking point at Creekside Terrace Trailhead at Fort Ord National Monument. The event emphasizes a supportive pace, frequent breaks, and that walking is an accepted part of the outing so participants are not expected to maintain speed.
