Llyn y Fan Fell Race
Llyn y Fan is a fell race of 8.8 km / 610 m (5.9 miles / 2000 ft) ascent, classified with the codes LK / NS / ER. It is scheduled for Saturday 14 November 2028 and is restricted to runners aged over 16. Entry is through the Fabian4 system with an entry fee of £7; there is a £1 discount per person for car sharing when four or more travel together. Entry is limited to 50 competitors.
Event headquarters and registration are at the Llyn Y Fan car park. Registration is open 10:00–11:45am on race day. There are no toilets at the HQ.
The route uses a new start and ascent introduced in 2017 and goes to Llyn Y Fan Fach. Competitors leave the start toward the Beacons Way, ascend to the grassy slopes toward Bannau Sir Gaer, and follow the path along the escarpment east over Picws Du. The course then descends and climbs to Fan Foel before a descent down the north west slope from the cairn, which is steep at first, with runners finding the best line back to the finish.
