The Bertman Run - Overview
The Bertman Run takes place on Saturday, January 17, 2026, in Folsom, CA (951-975 Leidesdorff St). The event offers the following on-course distances and a virtual run/walk option:
- 5k
- 10k
- Half Marathon
This is a fundraiser; proceeds will be donated to Blood Cancer United (formerly the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society) in honor of the race director's father. Registration closes January 16, 2026.
Course and logistics
The races start from the Historic Folsom Station North Park and Ride and run on the American River Bike Trail as an out-and-back course. The trail remains open to other parkway users; participants are asked to stay to the left. Aid stations are provided at the 10k turnaround and at the half marathon turnaround; there is no aid station on the 5k course. There is no official bathroom at the race start; bathrooms are available on the bike trail and at nearby businesses.
Packet and bib pick-up is day-of only at the Park and Ride lot. Official timing chips are not used; times will be recorded manually. Goodie bags, morning treats, and participant medals will be available at check-in. Awards with gift cards will be given to first-place male and female finishers in each distance. Yerba Mate will provide free drinks on site. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
