Live Brave 5K and 1 Mile
The Live Brave event is an annual community running race held in Woodbury, Minnesota, at Colby Lake Park. The event supports youth mental health initiatives, specifically focusing on eating disorder prevention and recovery through a partnership with the WithAll Organization. Participants run or walk on USATF Certified Courses that are primarily flat loops.
The event offers several individual and combined participation options:
- Live Brave 5K: A 3.1 mile loop with chip timing.
- Live Brave 1 Mile: A 1 mile loop featuring both gun and chip timing.
- The Brave Challenge: An option for a single participant to complete both the 5K and the 1 Mile races.
All participants in the 5K and 1 Mile receive a t-shirt and a swag bag. The 1 Mile event includes a competitive wave for faster runners and a community wave where children aged 12 and under can participate for free. The 5K allows for team registration, with specific awards provided for the largest and fastest teams based on the top five finishing times.
The race environment includes a post-race celebration at the park featuring food, refreshments, sponsor booths, and music. Spectators can view the race from several locations including the Colby Lake Park pavilion, Edgewater Park, and along Woodbury Drive. While strollers are permitted on the course, pets are not allowed. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
