Event Overview
The Little Big Town 5K and Family Fun Run is scheduled for Saturday, May 2, 2026. It is the 18th annual edition of this event. The event is hosted by the Van Alstyne Education Foundation and proceeds directly fund teachers and students of the Van Alstyne Independent School District.
Distances and Registration
The event offers three separate registrations:
- A timed 5K race.
- A 1 mile Fun Run.
- A Race from Bed Donation to VAEF, which is a donation entry.
Standard registration prices are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 mile Fun Run. These prices increase after February 28, 2026. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Location and Course
The event takes place at Van Alstyne High School, located at 700 Collin McKinney Parkway in Van Alstyne, Texas. The course for the 2026 event is new and is described as flat.
Schedule and Logistics
On race day, packet pickup and registration open at 6:45 AM at Van Alstyne High School. The 1 mile Fun Run starts at 8:00 AM, followed by the 5K start at 8:30 AM. An awards ceremony is scheduled for 9:30 AM.
Early packet pickup is available on Friday, May 1st, from 3:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Van Alstyne Administration Building (1096 N. Waco, Van Alstyne).
Parking is available in a sectioned-off area of the high school parking lot.
Participant Information
All participants will receive a medal. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered by April 24, 2026; sizes cannot be guaranteed after that date. Race day entries do not include a t-shirt. T-shirts and medals will not be mailed to participants who do not attend the event.
The race is scored by chip time. Awards are given to the top overall male and female 5K runners. Division winners will be posted at the race and online. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
