Lisa Nelson’s Mustang Stampede 5K
The Lisa Nelson’s Mustang Stampede 5K Run/Walk is a community 5K held on September 26, 2026 at Ralston Valley High School, 13355 West 80th Avenue, Arvada, Colorado. The event is presented as a run and walk through northwest Arvada during the fall season.
The event raises funds for college scholarships established in memory of Lisa Nelson. These scholarships specifically support student-athletes from Ralston Valley High School. Each year one male and one female student-athlete from Ralston Valley High School are awarded scholarships in her honor.
Lisa Nelson served Ralston Valley High School from 2000 to 2013 as a physical education teacher and head volleyball coach. She passed away on March 3, 2013 at the age of 43 after a two year battle with cervical cancer. Following her passing, the memorial scholarship fund was created to continue support for students pursuing higher education.
