Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run
The Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run is a community road event in downtown West Dundee that starts and finishes at the corner of Oregon Avenue and South 1st Street at VFW Post 2298. Proceeds benefit the Dundee Township Lions Club and the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce and their charities. Participants are encouraged to donate used eyeglasses and non-perishable food items for Lions Clubs International causes.
Distances offered include:
- 5K run
- 10K run
- 1.2 mile walk
Registration fees listed for the event are walkers $25, 5K $35, and 10K $45. Runners and walkers registered before August 14, 2026 are guaranteed an official Lions Heritage Fest T-shirt. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the Northern Kane County Chamber Office at 20 S. Grove St., Ste 101, Carpentersville with scheduled pickup dates the week before the race.
Awards are presented to the top three overall females and top three overall males and to the top three in each age group for males and females. Age groups include 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 & older.
A post-race celebration is held at the West Dundee VFW at 117 S. 1st Street with awards and light refreshments. Water stations are placed along the course at the 1 mile and 2.4 mile marks and near the start and finish. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
