Lions Heritage Fest 5K Run
The Lions Heritage Fest 5K is a community road event held in downtown West Dundee as part of Heritage Fest. The course starts and finishes at the corner of Oregon Avenue and South 1st Street at VFW Post 2298. The event is presented alongside a 10K run and a 1.2 mile walk.
Registration fees include an early bird rate for the 5K at $35. Registered participants who register prior to August 14, 2026, are guaranteed an official Lions Heritage Fest T-shirt. Early bird pricing for event registrations expires on June 30, 2026. Pre-race packet pickup is available at the Northern Kane County Chamber Office, 20 S. Grove St., Ste. 101, Carpentersville, on the specified days before the event.
Proceeds from the race benefit the Dundee Township Lions Club and the Northern Kane County Chamber of Commerce and their charities. Participants are encouraged to donate used eyeglasses and non-perishable food items to support Lions Clubs International charitable efforts.
Awards are presented to the top three female and top three male finishers and to the top three in each age group for both sexes. Age groups include 9 and under, 10 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 and older. Water stops are placed along the course near the 1.0 and 2.4 mile marks, with additional water available near the start and finish lines. A post-race celebration and awards presentation take place at the West Dundee VFW at 117 S. 1st Street, where refreshments are provided.
