Event details

The Linda Franks 5 Mile Race takes place on 18 January 2026. It is the 32nd edition of the event and is a certified 5-mile distance with Race Licence 30306. Entries opened on 9 November and withdrawals or transfers are permitted until 16 January. The event status is listed as Closed and the total number of places is 300.

Course and format

The course is a measured two-loop circuit on mainly residential streets. It is described as largely flat and suitable for wheelchair athletes. Mile markers are provided and the race is chip-timed using LuSH timing. Medals are given to all finishers. Prizes are awarded to the top three open athletes by gender, first age-category finishers, first team and first wheelchair athlete; open prize winners are not eligible for an age-category prize.

Venue and facilities

Race headquarters is at the Reddings Community Centre (North Road West GL51 6RF). Parking is expected to be at Ultra Precision on Hatherley Lane, near Asda, an approximate 10-minute walk from Race HQ. Toilets and refreshments will be available at Race HQ; there are no changing or baggage facilities. Personal listening devices that are not UKA-approved are not allowed.

Entry fees

A discounted fee of £13 and a standard fee of £15 applied until 16 January 2026. Discounted pricing applied to members of EA, WA or SA. The organiser covers the service fee of 4% (minimum 50p). Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
