Event overview
The Linda Franks 5 Mile Race is scheduled for 18 January 2026 and is the 32nd running of the event. The race is a certified 5-mile distance with chip timing provided by LuSH timing and mile markers along the route. Medals are given to all finishers. Prizes are awarded to the top three open athletes (male and female), first age-category finishers, first team and first wheelchair athlete. Any athlete winning an open prize is not eligible for an age-category prize.
Entries for the race opened on 9 November. Withdrawals and transfers were permitted until 16 January 2026. The event is currently closed to new entries.
Course and logistics
The course is a two-loop circuit on mainly residential streets. It is described as largely flat and suitable for wheelchair athletes. Race licence number is 28622.
Race headquarters is at the Reddings Community Centre (North Road West GL51 6RF). Parking is expected to be at Ultra Precision on Hatherley Lane, an approximate 10-minute walk from Race HQ. Toilets and refreshments will be available at Race HQ; there are no changing or baggage facilities and participants are advised to arrive race-ready. Non-UKA-approved personal listening devices are not allowed so participants can hear traffic and marshal instructions.
