The event is the 32nd running of the Linda Franks 5 Mile Race, a certified 5-mile distance with Race Licence 28622. The course is a measured, two-loop circuit on mainly residential streets with mile markers. The race is chip-timed by LuSH timing. The route is described as largely flat and is suitable for wheelchair athletes. Medals are awarded to all finishers. Prizes are given to the top three open male and female athletes, first age category finishers, first team and first wheelchair athlete; any runner winning an open prize is not eligible for an age category prize.

Entries opened at 12:00 on Sunday 9 November. Withdrawals and transfers were permitted until Friday 16 January. Total places were set at 300 and the event status is listed as closed.

Logistics and race-day facilities

Race headquarters is at the Reddings Community Centre (North Road West GL51 6RF). Parking is expected to be at Ultra Precision (Hatherley Lane, near Asda), an approximate 10-minute walk from Race HQ. Registration is scheduled at Race HQ from 7:45 to 8:45, followed by a race briefing and a short walk to the start. Toilets and refreshments are available at Race HQ. There are no changing or baggage facilities. Non-UKA-approved personal listening devices are not allowed; participants must be able to hear traffic and marshal instructions.
