Frostbite Festival
The Frostbite Festival is scheduled for December 6, 2026 in Springfield, Illinois, with pre-race and post-race activities held inside AMF Springfield Lanes at 2660 W Lawrence Ave. The event marks the 63rd anniversary of the Frostbite Festival and uses an out and back course noted for its roller coaster hills.
Race options include:
- 2 mile out and back race.
- 10 mile out and back race; final leg of the SRRC Triple Crown Challenge and Abe's 50K Throwdown.
For 2026 the festival offers both in-person and virtual participation. The in-person event will follow applicable local and state regulations; participants who do not start the in-person race are automatically transferred to the virtual event. Virtual participants may run or walk on a course of their choice; there will be no course support, markings, or marshals, and participants should avoid parking in the Fit Club lot.
Packet pickup is scheduled the Saturday before race day at M Fitness Health and Wellness (3450 B Liberty Dr) and there will be race morning pickup outside AMF Springfield Lanes. Online registration includes an option to have packets mailed for a separate $15 fee; mailed packets will be prepared after race weekend. Registered entrants may select a shirt size during registration; a guaranteed shirt deadline falls in October 2026, and additional shirts will be ordered.
Virtual finish times can be submitted beginning December 6, 2026 for one week; there are no age group awards for the virtual event. Registration is available only through RunSignUp; no cash or checks are accepted and transfers or sales between persons are not permitted.
