About the race

The Iceman Series 2026-27 is a sequence of winter road races held in Springfield, IL, running from December 12, 2026 to February 6, 2027. The series includes multiple events on different dates, with some venues confirmed and others to be announced.

A points contest runs through December and January. Points rules include 15 points for participation, 1 point awarded per kilometer run, and age-group points in five-year brackets with 15 points for 1st, 14 for 2nd, 13 for 3rd, and so on. The February Half Marathon, 10K, and 5K are separate from the points contest; the Half Marathon awards a finisher medal, an Iceman shirt, and awards for top finishers, while the 10K and 5K award finisher medals, t-shirts, and awards for the top three male and female overall finishers.

Runners who register for the full series receive a quarter-zip Iceman Series shirt at the first event, the Iceman shirt at the Half Marathon, and a series display to hold finisher medallions. Each event begins and ends at a local restaurant or bar and includes a $5 coupon for food and drinks after the run.
