Lincoln Marathon and Half Marathon
The Lincoln Marathon is an annual running event organized by the Lincoln Track Club, a volunteer organization that has promoted running in Nebraska since 1975. The event takes place in the city of Lincoln and is open to participants of various ages and skill levels.
The event features several different distances:
- 26.2 miles (Marathon)
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 1 mile (Mayor's Run - Kids' Run)
The Marathon and Half Marathon follow a course through the streets of Lincoln, starting at the University of Nebraska, 14th and Vine Streets. The course also includes a wheelchair and rucksack division. The finish line is located on Stadium Drive at the University of Nebraska. For younger participants, the Mayor's Run is a 1-mile race for school-age children held near the Nebraska State Capitol.
Participants receive an official race shirt and a race envelope containing a bib, which serves as the timing chip. Packet pickup occurs over two days, starting with a runner's expo at the Cornhusker Marriott on the Saturday before the main races. A final opportunity for packet pickup and a bag check service are available on race morning at the Cook Pavilion.
The city offers various transportation and lodging options for athletes. Several hotels are located within one mile of the starting area. For those traveling from outside the city, Lincoln is accessible via Interstate 80, the Lincoln Municipal Airport, or the Amtrak station in the Haymarket District.
