Lightning Bolt 10k : Langley Burrell, Chippenham
The Lightning Bolt 10k is one race in a five-event series for 2026. The event is a single 10 km race held at Langley Burrell Village Hall, Chippenham, Wiltshire SN15 4LL.
The course is officially measured and registered with UKA/Run Britain. Elevation gain for the route is 14 metres. Chip timing and distance markers at each mile are provided. There is an approximate 1 km walk from Race HQ to the start line and the finish is about 500 metres from Race HQ. The route passes through a rural area where runners may encounter horses and riders; guidance for passing horses is given.
Pacers are available to guide runners, with pacing groups covering times from 35 minutes to 70 minutes. The event offers optional medals at registration; choosing no medal reduces the entry cost. Race photography is provided and on-site toilets are available.
Entry fees differ by entry method and affiliation status: online affiliated entry and unaffiliated entry have lower fees than day cash entry. Spaces are allocated for elite athletes who have met sub-31:00 for men or sub-34:00 for women within the last 12 months. The event is suitable for visually impaired athletes when arranged in advance; it is not suitable for wheelchair athletes following recent risk assessments.
Organisers state a 1 hour 15 minute course time limit after which marshals are removed and participants must make their own way back to the finish. Approximate driving times to the venue are provided from major cities including London, Birmingham, Bristol, Cardiff, Swansea and Exeter.
