Lightning Bolt 10k : Langley Burrell, Chippenham
Part of a five race Lightning Bolt 10k series, this event is staged at Langley Burrell Village Hall, Chippenham SN15 4LL. The race distance is 10 km on an officially measured course with a total elevation gain of about 14 metres. The course is registered with UKA Run Britain and uses chip timing.
Facilities and race services include marked mile markers, on-site toilets, and a team of pacers covering target times from 35 to 70 minutes. Medals are optional at registration so entrants can choose a lower entry price without a medal. A time limit of 1 hour 15 minutes applies; marshals are removed from the course after this time and signage remains until the final finisher.
Entries are available online and on the day. Online entry fees are listed for affiliated and unaffiliated runners and higher cash-only fees apply for day entries. A number of elite places are held for athletes who have run under 31 minutes for men or under 34 minutes for women in the last 12 months. The event is suitable for visually impaired runners when this is notified to the organiser in advance; it is not suitable for wheelchair athletes following recent risk assessments.
