About the race
The **LifeSong Dash** is a thirteenth annual **5K run** held at **Halfmoon Town Park**. The main race covers **3.1 miles** on a course that is available as a GPX file and through an online map. The event is a **USATF sanctioned race for 2025**. The day includes several race options.
Alongside the LifeSong Dash 5K there is a **Junior Dash** for children **12 and under**, with a distance of **1 mile**. A **Members Dash** over **3.1 miles** is offered at a special rate for participants in LifeSong programs. The LifeSong Dash supports **LifeSong, Inc.** and its mission to love, enhance, equip, and inspire adults with differing abilities and their families. In 2025 the event raised **over $45,000**, with all net proceeds helping to fund renovation and expansion of LifeSong offices at Plaza 8 in Clifton Park, planned to increase capacity by nearly **30 percent** over three years. The **Town of Halfmoon** sponsors the event at its town park, highlighting the partnership with LifeSong and the community focus on helping others.
The Dash is open to both runners and walkers. Corporate and community sponsors and volunteers play an important role in organizing and supporting the event each year. The LifeSong Dash combines a timed road race and kid-friendly activities with fundraising for local services for adults with differing abilities.
