Event Overview
The Life Unlimited 5K & 1 Mile Walk takes place in downtown North Kansas City, Missouri. This event is held in partnership with the Snake Saturday Parade and is dedicated to the memory of Coach Gene McClain. Participants have the option to enter one of two distances:
- 5K
- 1 Mile Walk
The start and finish lines are located at 320 Armour Rd. The course routes navigate through the local area, with specific details available via MapMyRun. Because parking at the site is very limited, a shuttle service operates every 10 minutes from a designated lot at 3920 N. Oak Trafficway, which is less than two miles from the event hub.
Participant Amenities and Awards
All registered participants receive a unisex tri-blend t-shirt, free race photos, and a custom finisher medal. The 5K medals are heavy 4-inch designs, while the 1 Mile medals are 3.5 inches. After the run, participants can access a rooftop area to watch the 42nd annual Snake Saturday Parade and receive a complimentary beverage from Rochester Brewing & Roasting Co.
Awards are presented to the top overall male and female finishers, who receive custom plaques and gift packages. In the 5K event, custom age group medals are awarded to the top three male and female finishers in several categories ranging from 19 and under to 70 and over.
