Event Overview
The 11th Annual LIC Waterfront 5K Run/Walk takes place in Long Island City, New York. This community event is held at Hunter's Point South Park, located at the intersection of Center Boulevard and Borden Avenue. The course utilizes the waterfront area, providing participants with views of the East River.
The event features the following distances:
- 5 km
- Kids Dash (untimed)
The Kids Dash is available for participants aged 9 and under. The 5 km distance is open to both runners and walkers. Participants who register by May 14th are guaranteed an event t-shirt. Those who register at least three weeks before the race will also receive a personalized bib with their name printed on it.
Additional Information
The LIC Waterfront 5K is organized in partnership with local groups, including the Woodside-Sunnyside Runners and Run LIC. Proceeds from the event benefit the Hunters Point Parks Conservancy, a non-profit organization dedicated to the maintenance and beautification of local green spaces.
Participants can choose to join or create teams during the registration process. Awards are presented to the top three overall finishers in the Male, Female, and Non-Binary categories. The event organizers provide live online results via email or text, along with finish line photographs. Bib pickup is available on the two days preceding the event at Culture Lab LIC, as well as on the morning of the race at Hunter's Point South Park.
