The Liam Strong Charity Beach Run takes place on Sunday, September 20, 2026. The location is Johnnie Mercer's Pier at 23 E Salisbury St, Wrightsville Beach, NC.
Events and Registration
Two running events are offered:
- Liam Strong Beach 5K
- Liam Strong Beach Fun Run
Registration for the events opens on February 13, 2026. Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Flying Machine Oyster Bar (530 Causeway Drive, Wrightsville Beach) and also on race morning.
Charity and Purpose
The event was created to honor Liam Batten, a child who passed away from cancer at six months old. The aim is to honor his memory and support the doctors and nurses at the North Carolina Children’s Hospital (UNC Children's Hospital). A silent auction is also part of the event.
Additional Information
Parking is available via metered parking spots that accept credit cards. A training program called "Fun to 5K" begins on July 26, 2026, to prepare participants for the 5K or Fun Run events. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
