Liam Strong Charity Beach Run
The Liam Strong Charity Beach Run is a running event held in honor of Liam Fredric Batten, who passed away from childhood cancer at six months old. The run is a fundraiser to support the doctors and nurses at the North Carolina Children's Hospital. The event takes place at Johnnie Mercer's Pier on Wrightsville Beach in North Carolina.
Two events are offered:
- Liam Strong Beach 5K
- Liam Strong Beach Fun Run
Packet pickup is available the day before the race at Flying Machine Oyster Bar on Wrightsville Beach. For participants who cannot attend then, a last-chance pickup is available on race morning. Metered parking is available at the venue, payable by credit card.
A separate "Fun to 5K" training program is offered to help participants prepare for the race. The event also includes a silent auction and an online store. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
