About the race
The Estra Firenze Marathon is scheduled for 29 November 2026 in Florence and covers the official marathon distance 42.195 km. The course runs through the city’s historic streets, including Piazza del Duomo, along the Arno river and several famous bridges and squares such as Ponte Vecchio, Piazza Santa Croce and Piazza Signoria. The route also includes passages through parks, Lungarno sections and a run inside the athletics stadium.
Entry is limited to 13,000 runners. Participation requires appropriate membership or certification depending on status: FIDAL membership, foreign federation membership affiliated with World Athletics, or a RUNCARD/RUNCARD EPS where applicable; foreign non‑member athletes may enter a non‑competitive category but will not be ranked or eligible for prizes. A valid agonistic medical certificate or the required health form must be uploaded to the ENDU portal before the race.
Services on course include refreshment points every 5 km (water and salt; food from 15 km), toilets at start, finish, cloakroom and refreshment points, medical stations with vans and ambulances every 5 km, and doctors on motorcycles. A free pacemaker service is available for multiple target times. Chip timing is used; the chip is placed on the back of the bib and is required for ranking. Time limits apply: 6 hours for the full distance, 3 hours at half marathon and 4h15 at 30 km.
Finishing athletes receive the official medal immediately in the arrival area and classified participants can download a participation diploma. Registration is handled online through the ENDU portal with a published fee schedule and non refundable entry fees, while limited transfer options are available under the regulation.
