Event overview
The Leprechaun Leap is a community running event at Burke Lake Park on March 15. The event offers two distances:
- 5k
- 10k
Points from the race count toward the Year-Long 5k & Back of the Pack Series and the Winter Series. A virtual race option is available for those not on site. Walkers are welcome. Registered finishers receive a medal, a technical (drifit) event shirt, and chip timing. T-shirts are guaranteed for runners registered before March 4; extras may be available afterward.
Course, services and logistics
The course is mostly paved with a short gravel section and limited elevation gains. The 10k uses an out-and-back route repeated twice. Water is provided at three stations on the 10k (about miles 1.55, 3.1, and 4.65) and at one station on the 5k (about mile 1.55); Gatorade may be available at some stations. Packet pickup is available at the event. Race day registration is offered, with t-shirt sizes not guaranteed for same-day registrants. Entry fees listed for pre-deadline and late registration increase on race morning by $5 per distance. Parking is at Shelter C in Burke Lake Park (7315 Ox Rd, Fairfax Station, VA 22039). Top three men and women overall receive awards, plus age-group awards for listed categories. Final results and live timing will be posted after the race.
