Leicester's Big 10K

Leicester's Big 10K is a flat, lapped road race based in Abbey Park, Leicester. The event is centred on a route that uses the park interior and the park perimeter, with runners completing repeated circuits before finishing inside the park roughly 700 m from the final park entrance. Numbers and timing chips are posted to entrants before the race.

The entry process is open with early bird fees listed at £31 for club members and £33 for non club members. The minimum entry age is 15 years. The race uses two start waves to manage runner flow. A single water station is positioned just before the 5 km marker.

Facilities at the venue include a secure baggage drop at the finish, mobile toilets and urinals within Abbey Park, and free sports massage provided by the event partner after the race. Prizes are presented on the day for the first three finishers in each gender for the first wave and for age group winners; age categories start at 35 and are grouped in ten year gaps. All finishers receive a bespoke finisher medal.

Refund and transfer rules are published: full refunds less a £2 administration fee are available up to six weeks before the race; after that date refunds are not offered unless the entrant helps marshal, and entries may be transferred before the race. If the race is cancelled for reasons beyond the organiser's control the event will seek to reschedule or offer a partial refund or donation option depending on costs incurred.

Race route uses the canal towpath with permission from the Canal & River Trust. Headphones are restricted to bone conducting types so runners can hear marshal instructions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
