Leicester's Big 10K

Leicester's Big 10K takes place within the grounds of Abbey Park in Leicester. The event features a route that is described as being significantly flat, making it a location for participants aiming to achieve personal best times. The course follows a lapped format designed to manage the flow of participants throughout the duration of the race.

The event structure utilizes two separate start waves to organize the field. The first wave is designated for participants who expect to complete the distance in 45 minutes or less. The second wave is for all remaining participants. This arrangement is implemented to prevent faster runners from overtaking those at the back of the field on the lapped course.

The race is held under UKA (UK Athletics) regulations. The event has previously seen high participation levels, with over 1,200 entrants joining a prior edition in 2024. Registration is open to the general public until the day of the event.
