Event Overview
The Legends Never Die 5K is a beach run and walk hosted by the Madeira Beach Fire Department. The event takes place on Sunday, April 12, 2026, in Madeira Beach, Florida. The course path is along the shoreline and in the sand. The race is chip-timed.
Registration and Fees
There are two registration events: a standard 5K and a free kids' registration for participants under 12 years old. Adult registration includes a raffle ticket for a chance to win prizes like a hotel stay, fishing trip, or entertainment tickets.
Registration fees for the 5K are structured in three phases:
- Early Registration (includes a race t-shirt): $40, from June 7, 2025, to February 13, 2026.
- Regular Registration (includes a race t-shirt): $45, from February 14, 2026, to March 13, 2026.
- Late Registration (does not include a t-shirt): $45, from March 14 to April 12, 2026.
T-shirts are only guaranteed with early and regular registration. Entry fees are non-refundable.
Event Purpose and Awards
The event is dedicated to raising awareness about mental health, PTSD, and suicide among first responders, veterans, active-duty military personnel, and their families. Proceeds benefit The Franciscan Center's First Responders Post Trauma Training Program. Race awards are given to the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall male and female finishers.
Location and Parking
The event address is 15100 Gulf Boulevard, Madeira Beach. Paid parking is available at Archibald Beach. Free parking is available at the Madeira Beach City Centre Complex (300 Municipal Drive) or along Rex Place in front of the Sports Complex, both within walking distance.
