Legends Never Die 5K - Madeira Beach
Legends Never Die 5K is a chip timed beach run and walk held on the shoreline at 15100 Gulf Boulevard in Madeira Beach, Florida. The course runs in the sand along the shoreline. The event is hosted by the Madeira Beach Fire Department and has operated since 2021.
The event focuses on awareness of mental health, PTSD, and suicide among first responders, veterans, active duty military, and their families. Proceeds support The Franciscan Center's First Responders Post Trauma Training Program. The race honors fallen first responders and veterans as part of that mission.
Participants may run or walk; families are welcome and strollers are permitted. Kids 12 and under may register at no cost and there is an option for timed results and a finisher medal for youth. Awards are given to 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall male and female finishers, and there is a separate award for the fastest firefighter in full gear.
On-site offerings listed for the event include raffle prizes, refreshments, a pre-run stretch station and stretch and adjustment clinics, hydration stations, food vendors, swag bags for the first 500 registrants, and medals for the first 500 finishers who have their bibs on at the finish.
