Event Details
The Legacy of Courage Half Marathon will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2026, at Burroughs Park in Tomball, Texas. All proceeds benefit The Outdoor Disabled Veterans Program (The ODV), part of the Knowledge Point Network, which supports disabled veterans through outdoor and therapeutic programs.
Distances
Multiple race distances are offered:
- Kids Dash (approximately 50 meters, for children aged 10 and under)
- 1 Mile
- 5K (3.1 miles)
- 5K Ruck
- Quarter Marathon (6.55 miles)
- Quarter Marathon Ruck
- Half Marathon (13.1 miles)
- Virtual Run
The Kids Dash is untimed and includes a shirt, medal, and a recognition pin. The 1-mile event is also untimed. The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon events are chip-timed and offer overall and age group awards. The 5K and Quarter Marathon also offer "Ruck" events where participants can add weighted packs.
Event Features
The event is produced by Bigfoot Running Company. All finishers receive a medal and a race shirt. Complimentary snacks and refreshments are available at the finish. There will be vendors on-site, a DJ playing music, and aid stations on the course providing water. Awards are announced live.
Course & Location
The course takes place in the 320-acre Burroughs Park, featuring over eight miles of trails through woodlands and pine trees. The park includes a seven-acre fishing lake, an observation deck, and an elevated boardwalk. The surface is a mix of pavement, crushed granite, and occasional dirt paths.
Awards
Overall male and female winners in the 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon receive a trophy. Overall masters winners (age 40+) receive a special pin. Age group awards (gold, silver, bronze pins) are given for multiple categories from 10 & under to 70+. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
