Legacy 5K - Norwood

The Legacy 5K event takes place at Darrell Almond Park, 748 N. Main Street, Norwood, NC 28128. The program includes a main 3.1 Miles race and a 1 Mile Fun Run.

Packet pickup begins at 7:30 a.m. on race day. Bathrooms, water, and snacks are provided at the park picnic shelters. Awards for the main 5K will be presented in the park gazebo shortly after the race. The 1 Mile Fun Run is non-competitive and will not have awards. The event proceeds in all weather conditions.

Online registration closes June 3, 2026. A deadline for a free race t-shirt is listed as May 31, 2026. Race day registration is available. The event supports the Legacy Dream Center of Safer Communities Ministry, a program that delivers resources and programs for inmates, ex-offenders, people recovering from addiction, their families, and their communities. The ministry states its mission as building safer communities by transforming lives and offers a faith-based approach to recovery and support.
