About the race
The Leenane / Maam branch of the Irish Red Cross is organising the seventeenth Leenane 5 Mile Run Jog Walk on 15th November 2026 in Leenane, County Galway. The event starts and finishes in Leenane Village and is held to raise funds for the Leenane / Maam Cardiac First Responder Group; all proceeds from the day support that local volunteer unit.
The course follows roads and lanes around Killary Harbour and includes the award winning Golden Mile in Glanagimla, offering views of local scenery along the route. Prizes are awarded for first, second and third place. Refreshments are provided at the finish and local volunteers offer teas and cakes after the event.
Online entry is available with a solo entry fee listed as €20 and a family option listed as €50, and a limited number of places may be available on the day. The Leenane / Maam unit was established in 2005 to support the surrounding communities and provides first responder cover at outdoor events in the area.
