Event overview
The Connemara International Marathon takes place in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland, on 19 April 2026. The event is the 23rd running of the Connemarathon and includes multiple race distances across the Connemara area. The ultra marathon course introduced in 2023 will be retained for 2026.
Distances and course details
- 13.1 miles half marathon: starts in Leenane and finishes in Maam Cross.
- Marathon: starts at Lough Inagh, follows the half marathon course, and finishes in Maam Cross.
- 39.3 miles ultra marathon: the retained 2023 ultra course covering 39.3 miles.
Logistics and participant information
All race numbers for 2026 will be posted worldwide; registrants must provide a full address and inform organisers of any changes. All participants must complete a short form to confirm their place and to book a bus seat for travel to the starts. Spectator buses run from Galway, Oughterard and Clifden to the finish area at Maam Cross; bus tickets are available in advance and must be purchased before the event.
