Event overview
The Connemara International Marathon takes place in Connemara, County Galway, Ireland on 19 April 2026. This is the 23rd Connemarathon. The event webpage lists race information such as course profiles, water stations, baggage transfer, pacers, showers, t-shirts and medals. Race numbers for 2026 will be posted worldwide; entrants must provide a full address when they register and notify the organisers of any address changes.
Race distances
- Half Marathon - starts in Leenane and finishes in Maam Cross, distance 13.1 miles.
- Full Marathon - starts at Lough Inagh, follows the half marathon course and finishes in Maam Cross.
- Ultra Marathon - new course from 2023 retained for 2026, distance 39.3 miles.
Practical information
Participants must complete a short form to confirm their place and to book a bus seat. Spectator buses pick up in Galway, Oughterard and Clifden and go to the finish area at Maam Cross; spectator bus tickets are available online and must be purchased in advance. The event notes that weather in Connemara is unpredictable and can vary widely. Entry fees shown on the site are: half marathon €70, full marathon €75, ultra marathon €80; spectator tickets are listed at €20 for adults and €15 for children.
