Event

The MTC Gancanagh is a single-day ultra running event held as part of the Mount to Coast End to End Challenge. Route and logistics

The route starts at the Woodfield Hotel, Clifden, County Galway, and finishes at Westport Woods Hotel & Spa, County Mayo. The course largely follows the MizMal® route. Organisers provide competitor tracking devices with SOS, and maps and GPX files are emailed to entrants prior to the event. Competitors must carry mandatory kit including a backpack, head torch with spare batteries, route maps, compass or GPS, whistle, mobile phone, basic first-aid and an emergency food pack. The race is cup-free; competitors should bring a reusable cup.

Entries, cut-offs and awards

Entries are limited to 20 race-only places, with an additional allowance of 20 for MizMal® participants (maximum 40). Entrants must be aged 20 or over. The event enforces preset cut-off points based on a minimum average speed of 4.0 mph; participants falling below this threshold may be withdrawn. Entry options and fees shown are: MTC Gancanagh £90.00, and MTC Gancanagh Plus Race Package £155.00 (includes race shirt and hi-viz jacket).
