Leeds Half Marathon - 09 May 2027
The Leeds Half Marathon is a mass-participation running event held in Leeds, with the start and finish at Headingley Stadium. The event began in 2003 and has become a regular day for fundraising, raising thousands of pounds for charity each year.
The course runs from Headingley Stadium past the University of Leeds, heads north into Meanwood, passes Golden Acre Park and returns along Leeds Road to finish at the stadium. Water stations with 330 ml bottles are positioned on the course, and Applied Nutrition stations provide isotonic drinks and energy gels. Fixed first aid stations are located near the water stations, with a first aid unit and recovery area close to the start and finish and roaming first aiders around the Event Village.
Event facilities include an Event Village with food and drink for purchase and charity partner stands. Baggage larger than an A4 sheet is not permitted inside the stadium; baggage labels are attached to race numbers. Race numbers are posted 7-10 days before the event and the deadline to change the posted address is six weeks before the race. Pacers sponsored by Arla Protein will be on course with flags showing target finish times. Entrants must be aged 17 years or older on the day.
Sustainability measures include recycling bins at each water station and trainer drop-off stations in the Event Village through a partnership with JogOn. Bone-conducting headphones are permitted with low volume so runners can hear marshals and emergency vehicles. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
