LECOM Costume Caper 5k Family Fun Run/Walk
The LECOM Costume Caper is a family 5K run or walk held on October 17, 2026, along the Pittsburgh Riverfront Trail in the "Strip District" at 2545 Railroad St., Pittsburgh, PA 15222. The event is presented as part of the Pittsburgh Monster Pumpkins Festival.
Registration opens April 14, 2026. The general entry fee is $25.00. A separate registration category is available for current LECOM students, employees, and alumni with no fee. The last day to guarantee a shirt size is September 27; after that shirts are distributed on a first come, first served basis.
All participants receive a "Jumbo Jack" pumpkin medal and additional event swag. Costume categories include scariest, funniest, and most original, with separate awards for those categories. Participants are encouraged to wear Halloween-themed costumes, though running or walking without a costume is allowed.
The 5K will be timed by Miles of Smiles Timing using a disposable chip attached to the bib. Event proceeds are designated to support medical students. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
