Leavenworth Marathon - 2026
The Leavenworth Marathon event offers a marathon and a half marathon through the town of Leavenworth, Washington and nearby natural areas. The half marathon starts and finishes at Enchantment Park and follows Front Street through the Bavarian village before joining riverfront trails. The marathon begins near the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area and includes a roughly nine mile stretch through Icicle Canyon, sections on East Leavenworth Road, riverfront parks and trails, and Icicle River trails, with both distances finishing at Enchantment Park Event Center.
Course surfaces include paved roads, sidewalks, dirt roads and trails. Mile markers and directional signage are placed throughout the course; dirt and gravel sections are marked with flour and tape. Aid stations are located every 2 to 3 miles and supply water and Skratch sports drink; energy gels are provided at approximately miles 10 and 21 for the marathon and mile 8 for the half marathon. A first aid tent and EMT-supported ambulance will be available at the finish area.
The marathon has a six hour course time limit and requires participants to use event-provided bus transport to the start from Leavenworth. The half marathon course is open for four hours. The event is USATF sanctioned and was recertified in 2024 as a Boston Qualifier. Finishers receive a custom Leavenworth Marathon medal and age-group awards are distributed on race day.
