Course
The event offers two distances:
- Marathon
- Half marathon
The marathon starts near the Alpine Lakes Wilderness Area and begins with a nine-mile section through Icicle Canyon. Runners follow East Leavenworth Road north in a closed lane to the Wenatchee River Bridge, cross into the Bavarian Village of Leavenworth, and continue along wooded riverfront parks, Icicle Road and Icicle River trails before repeating a second lap that finishes at the Enchantment Park Event Center. The half marathon starts at Enchantment Park, runs down Front Street through the village, turns onto 9th Street into Riverfront Park, then follows the marathon route back to the same finish. The course surface is a mix of paved roads, dirt and gravel roads, sidewalks and trails. The event is USATF sanctioned and was recertified in 2024 as a Boston Qualifier.
Event details and logistics
The marathon has a six-hour course limit; the half marathon is open for four hours. All marathon participants must travel to the start by bus from Leavenworth; driving to the start is not permitted. A first aid tent will be at the finish and EMT-supported ambulance service will be on site. No pets, strollers or tethered equipment are allowed. Entry fees change by registration period and include a finisher medal, age-group awards, post-race food, hydration, gel support, chip timing and race photos. Proceeds support cancer research, including a benefit partnership with Fred Hutch. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
