Course Details

The Leadville Trail 10K Run is a 6.2-mile (10 km) out-and-back course. It uses the first and last 3.1 miles of the LT100 Run course, featuring paved and dirt roads. The course has an elevation gain of 475 feet, with a lowest point of 9,734 feet and a highest point of 10,135 feet.

There will be one aid station at the turnaround point offering water, energy gels, sports drinks, bars, chews, and assorted foods like bananas and pretzels. Liquids will also be available on the Courthouse lawn. Roads on the course will not be fully closed to vehicle traffic. Wheelchair participation is not permitted due to safety restrictions.

Event Information

The event is scheduled for August 16, 2026. Packet pickup is available at two locations before race day: at 135 E 6th Street (the LT100 MTB Expo) on Friday and Saturday, and at the Courthouse Lawn (corner of 6th & Harrison) on Sunday morning. The race starts at the corner of 6th St & Harrison.

Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group and to overall gender winners. A free Kids Dash is also held at the start time.

Registration & Policies

General registration is open. The entry fee is $70. The minimum age to participate is 12 years old on race day. The deferral deadline for the 2026 event is August 13, 2026. The race organizer encourages sustainable practices, including following Leave No Trace principles and using provided waste stations.
