Course and terrain
The 50-mile course runs on gravel roads that parallel the North Fork of the Flathead River, just west of Glacier National Park. The route provides views of the Crown of the Continent region, including the Northern Rockies of southern British Columbia and Glacier Park, and passes through areas of aspen and larch. Runners can expect approximately 2,300 feet of elevation gain across 50 miles, on undulating gravel roads with occasional gentle inclines. Recent and ongoing construction on the North Fork Road has led to course re-routes in prior years, and the exact course may be adjusted for future editions.
