Girls on the Run Western Montana Spring 5K
This is an end of season celebratory 5K held in Spring 2027 at Depot Park in Whitefish, MT on Saturday May 22nd, 2027. The course is 3.1 miles and the event is presented as a noncompetitive closing celebration for program participants.
Every registered participant receives a commemorative medal. The event welcomes participants to walk, run, push, roll or skip at their preferred pace. Family members and community participants may join but must register separately. Some teams run a site based 5K at the locations where they practiced during the season.
Safety measures include the use of race bibs, assigned running buddies for participants, course monitoring and head counts, and a council safety plan that trains staff and volunteers to respond to emergencies. Designated parking is available and the course is accessible for people with disabilities.
Volunteers support set up and tear down, running buddy roles, cheer stations and the Inspiration Village. Volunteer assignments through the council require a background check. Registration forms include liability waivers. The event includes additional activities such as face painting, water stations, happy hair stations and a merchandise booth.
